‘American Pie’ Star Jason Biggs to Star in New Sitcom
CBS has ordered a pilot from Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz. The comedy will focus on a group of adult siblings and their parents who butt in too much. The unnamed pilot will reportedly star Jason Biggs, who is best known for his role as Jim in the raunchy teen movie, American Pie and it’s two sequels, American Pie 2 and American Wedding.
Sony Pictures TV will produce the project with CBS Paramount Network TV, which has a deal with Biggs. Hurwitz will write the show, which has also received a six episode order, with his Arrested Development colleague James Valley and will produce with his Tantamount partners Eric and Kim Tannenbaum. Hurwitz is also working on the animated show Sit Down, Shut Up, which will premiere midseason on FOX.
