Top 5 Golden Globe Moments

Monday, January 12th, 2009

David Duchovny There is always so much more to the Golden Globes than the awarding of the statues.  Across the web, everyone is highlighting their favorite non-winners list moments from last night’s ceremony.  Here are my top 5:

5.  David Duchovny confuses us all by mentioning his wife (Tea Leoni) twice - once on the red carpet and again while presenting. Last report was that they were separated. What’s up with that?

4.  Bruce Springsteen (when accepting his award for Best Original Song for The Wrestler): "This is the only time I’m going to be in competition with Clint Eastwood, I know that for sure."  With a chuckle as he grasps his trophy, "Felt pretty good, too."

3.  Sacha Baron Cohen, on the tough economic times: "This recession is affecting everyone, even celebrities. Victoria Beckham hasn’t eaten for three weeks. Charlie Sheen has been forced to have sex without paying for it. It’s true. And even Madonna has had to get rid of one of her personal assistants. (pause) Our thoughts go out to you Guy Ritchie."  And the best part about this crack was watching the disgust and horror on the faces of the celebs in attendance.

2. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie snub Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet…and he chases after them…only to have them stop to talk with Billy Bush. Classic.

1.  Tina Fey calls out all her internet haters: "If you ever start to feel too good about yourself, they have this thing called the Internet and you can find a lot of people there who don’t like you. I’d like to address some of them now. BabsonLacrosse — you can suck it. DianeFan — you can suck it. CougarLetter — you can really suck it because you’ve been after me all year."

What were some of your favorite moments?
