‘Fringe’ Stars Secret Marriage!

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

AnnaTorvMarkValley It turns out all that chemistry between Fringe’s Anna Torv and her co-star Mark Valley was real!  A rep for Torv confirmed on Monday, February 2nd that the actors were indeed married in a secret ceremony that took place sometime over the holidays.

Valley plays John Scott, the evil (or maybe not evil), dead (or maybe not dead) lover to Torv’s Olivia Dunham on the Fox hit.

The couple has been quietly dating for several months and apparently even some of their fellow castmates didn’t even know they were together.

Valley took part in a conference call with reporters last Thursday and when asked about Torv, kept it strictly business.  "I think [Anna] is just a fantastic actor and I really like working with her," he said. "She’s my favorite on the show, to be honest with you."  Looks like Mark was telling the truth there!

Full Season Pickups Abound

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

knightrider It’s that time of the season when networks start deciding what shows will stay and what will go in their schedules.  This season is a bit unique due to the strike.  In addition to all of the new shows awaiting their fate, there are also several sophomore series with unsure futures.

While some shows, like Chuck and 90210, got early pickups, some shows have had to wait to find out if they will receive full season orders.  In just the last week, full season pick-up announcements have been plentiful.  Here are the shows that have received full season orders from the networks so far:

CBS

  • The Mentalist

NBC

  • Chuck
  • Knight Rider

ABC

  • Private Practice

FOX

  • Fringe
  • Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles

CW

  • 90210

We’ll keep you posted as other announcements are made.

Fringe Gets Full Season Pickup

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

fringe-promo-25 J.J. Abrams latest drama, Fringe, has scored a full season pickup, Variety reports. Fox ordered an additional 9 episodes (known in TV land as the “back nine”) today.

Fringe has been ranked number 1 so far among all new shows in the 18-49 demographic.  The show has averaged a 4.2 rating and 11 share, and 10.7 million viewers.

Fringe revolves around FBI agent Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) who, through a series of strange events, is partnered with an eccentric scientist, Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble), and his intelligent, but somewhat shady son, Peter (Joshua Jackson).  Together they investigate the unusual and disturbing events happening all around the world which have been dubbed “The Pattern.”

You can catch Fringe Tuesday nights at 9 pm ET on Fox.

Fall 2008 New Shows - Fringe

Friday, August 15th, 2008
I’m still trying to decide which new fall shows to watch so I thought I would take a look at some of the most talked about shows to help me (and you) decide what to set the DVR to record. I’ll be featuring a few of them in posts throughout the next week or so.
I’ll start with the new JJ Abram’s project, Fringe. Why do I start there? Well, because I’m a huge fan of JJ’s other work, especially LOST, and because I took a quiz over at at Buddy TV and this is what it told me:

Synopsis:
After Flight 627 lands at Boston’s Logan Airport full of passengers who have died a grisly death, FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham is sent to investigate. When her partner, Special Agent John Scott, is almost killed during the investigation, she enlists the help of Dr. Walter Bishop, a brilliant scientist who has been institutionalized for the last 17 years. In order to get Bishop’s help, Olivia is forced to let his son Peter in on the mystery. Olivia’s investigation soon leads to a multi-billion dollar corporation, Massive Dynamic, and she learns that Flight 627 may just be a small piece of the larger, shocking puzzle.

Premiere:
September 9, 2008 at 8pm EST on Fox

Regular Timeslot:
Tuesdays at 9pm EST

Who’s In It?
Anna Torv as Olivia Dunham
Joshua Jackson as Peter Bishop
John Noble as Walter Bishop
Lance Reddick as Phillip Broyles
Kirk Acevedo as Charlie Francis
Mark Valley as John Scott
Blair Brown as Nina Sharp
Jasika Nicole as Astrid Farnsworth
