CBS Brings Back ‘Hawaii Five-O’
CBS has announced that they will be bringing back the long-running cop show Hawaii Five-O. Ed Bernero, executive producer of Criminal Minds, is helming the project and says he will stay true to the original show.
The show is, of course, based in Hawaii and follows the adventures of the Hawaii state police unit. The main character will be Chris McGarrett, son of the iconic Steve McGarrett, played in the original by Jack Lord. The original series ran from 1968 to 1980.
The network is also working on a remake of the Karl Malden/Michael Douglas drama, The Streets of San Francisco. They join the growing list of remakes that include this season’s Knight Rider and 90210 and last season’s Bionic Woman. I guess everyone is out of original ideas.
Book ‘em Danno.
