CW Considering Melrose Place Remake
With the success of the 90210 sequel, network execs at The CW are looking into the possibility of a similar Melrose Place remake.
With the new 90210, along with and the "comeback" of One Tree Hill, The CW has improved its performance among women aged 18-to-34 by 46 percent over its Tuesday time slot a year ago. Since that is the target audience The CW looks for, a new Melrose might fit right into their schedule.
The original Melrose Place, a spinoff of the original Beverly Hills 90210, aired on Fox from 1992 to 1999. It starred Heather Locklear, Andrew Shue, Courtney Thorne-Smith and Marcia Cross as friends living in a fictional Los Angeles apartment complex.
If they decide to go ahead with the project, the remake could show up on the 2009-10 fall schedule.
