Nathan Fillion to Star in New ABC Series
E! Online’s Kristin is reporting that Nathan Fillion’s pilot, Castle, has been picked up to series.
Fillion is a favorite of sci-fi fans for his work on the cancelled-before-its-time Joss Whedon series Firefly and the movie based on the series, Serenity. He also had roles on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the sitcom Two Guys, A Girl and a Pizza Place. Most recently, he starred as Captain Hammer in Whedon’s web musical, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. He also had a role as Doctor Adam Mayfair on Desperate Housewives last season.
Castle, written by Andrew Marlowe, is the story of a mystery writer who works as an advisor to the New York City police on particularly difficult cases.
Rob Thomas’ (Veronica Mars) dramedy Cupid has also been picked up along with a pair of comedies, “Single With Parents” and “Better Off Ted,” and “The Unusuals,” a police drama which stars Amber Tamblyn (Joan of Arcadia), Harold Perrineau (Lost) and Adam Goldberg (Entourage).
