NBC Developing an 80’s Version of The Wonder Years
NBC has ordered a pilot from the writer/producer of The Wonder Years, Bob Brush. Brush will executive produce the project along with Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum and Mitch Hurwitz.
Lost in the 80’s, which is said to be an 80’s version of The Wonder Years, is to be produced by Sony Pictures TV and studio-based Tantamount. It is described as Fast Times at Ridgemont High meets The Ice Storm.
Brush won an Emmy and a Humanitas Prize for The Wonder Years, which aired on ABC from 1988 to 1993. He has also worked on ABC’s Karen Sisco and CBS’ Early Edition.
Lost in the 80’s joins a growing list of remakes and sequels that include NBC’s Bionic Woman, Knight Rider and American Gladiators; CW’s 90210; and CBS’ upcoming projects Hawaii Five-O and The Streets of San Francisco.
